Start with a product brief. Leave with a plan.

The free planning Skill turns product facts, an audience and the assets you have into an editable script, shot-by-shot plan and missing-asset checklist.

DOWNLOAD

Put the Skill in a clean project folder.

Download the current ZIP, then extract it into a new project folder. Keep the product-video-plan folder intact; the package includes the Skill, references, examples and MIT license.

Download product-video-plan v0.1.0

Using a new folder keeps an existing Skill or local edits safe.

GIVE YOUR AGENT A BRIEF

Replace the brackets with your real inputs.

Open the extracted project in Codex, ask it to read the Skill, then paste this prompt. The download is free; your agent provider may have its own usage fees.

Read product-video-plan/SKILL.md and follow it.
Create plan.md and plan.json in a new output folder.

Audience: [who this video is for]
Goal and CTA: [one action the viewer should take]

Available assets: [screenshots, recordings, logo, footage]
Flag missing facts and assets. Do not invent claims.
Do not overwrite existing files.
The prompt is keyboard-focusable if clipboard access is unavailable.

REVIEW BEFORE PRODUCING

Check the plan against the real product.

Read every claim, read the narration aloud and resolve missing assets. If Node.js 18 or later is available, run the included structural validator:

node product-video-plan/scripts/validate-plan.mjs output/plan.json

The validator checks structure, timing continuity and references. It cannot judge creative quality or replace a human review.
