Mechanism Explainer
A structured vertical format that explains one concrete mechanism change. Discrete quantities, input versus processing rates and causal system flows replace abstract buzzwords.
Format anatomy & beat structure
The format answers “how does this actually work?” in 30 to 45 seconds for mobile feeds. Scenes follow a strict 5-beat rhythm:
- 1. Hook & causal question (0–1.5s): Pose the operational puzzle directly in the first sentence. State the mechanism under examination without generic introductory fluff.
- 2. Flow & baseline balance (1.5–12s): Introduce incoming items and processing capacity. Establish the normal flow state with visible rates and units.
- 3. Mechanism shift & consequence (12–26s): Introduce the imbalance—arrival rate exceeds capacity, or a cache miss triggers downstream latency. Show units accumulating.
- 4. Resolution or countermeasure (26–36s): Demonstrate the mechanism change—a capacity upgrade drains the backlog, or a cache hit returns instantly.
- 5. Discrete takeaway (36–40s): Summarize the formula or trade-off with traceable source assumptions before the closing CTA.
Verified format examples
Both examples below were generated locally from editable JSON storyboards and rendered at 1080×1920 (9:16) at 30 fps using HyperFrames. They are original controlled demonstrations, not hypothetical mockups.
Example 1: Why queues keep growing
36 seconds: three requests arrive per tick while capacity processes two. A visible queue accumulates until an operator intervention restores flow. Narrated in English with local Kokoro speech.

Example 2: Why a cache saves repeat work
36 seconds: an identical visual grammar models a cache miss, an expensive database retrieval, a subsequent cache hit and a TTL eviction. This example is silent with burned captions carrying the pace.
